ISLAMABAD: Children at Light House Orphanage in Islamabad celebrated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with a range of patriotic activities, expressing their love for the country and commitment to the national values of unity, faith and discipline.

The celebrations commenced with a flag-hoisting ceremony and featured national songs, patriotic performances, poetry recitals and speeches. An art and craft exhibition based on the theme Pakistan 79th Unity, Faith, Discipline was also organised, alongside sports and quiz competitions.

The festivities concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, a special meal and the distribution of gifts and sweets among the children.

Speaking on the occasion, Light House Orphanage founder Amina Wattoo Kasuri said the organisation was committed to providing children with care and education while instilling in them values of service, dignity, faith and discipline.

She said the children represented the future of Pakistan and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute positively to the country.

The event also included a special tribute to the armed forces, with children and staff expressing appreciation for the sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army in safeguarding the country.

Kasuri also acknowledged the contributions of donors, volunteers and supporters, saying their continued assistance had helped the orphanage provide a supportive environment focused on the welfare and development of vulnerable children.

Light House Orphanage Islamabad provides shelter, education, healthcare and emotional support to orphaned and vulnerable children, with the aim of helping them become confident and responsible members of society.
