ISLAMABAD: Questions have been raised over alleged coordination between India and the Afghan Taliban after an Indian YouTuber was reportedly granted unusual access to Afghanistan’s border areas near Pakistan.
According to reports circulating in media, the YouTuber was provided security and allowed to visit sensitive locations in the border region. The individual was also reportedly permitted to film areas overlooking Pakistani border posts.
The access has raised concerns among some Pakistani security and political circles, who say allowing a foreign content creator to record sensitive border locations could potentially expose information about security arrangements and border infrastructure.
Critics have questioned why an Indian national was granted such extensive access to sensitive areas and whether the visit was part of a broader relationship between Indian interests and the Afghan Taliban.
The reports come amid longstanding tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, particularly over allegations that militant groups, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), use Afghan territory to plan or launch attacks against Pakistan. Islamabad has repeatedly urged Kabul to prevent its territory from being used for militant activities.
However, the claims regarding the Indian YouTuber’s access and any direct coordination between India and the Taliban have not been independently verified.
The incident has nevertheless prompted renewed debate in Pakistan over security at sensitive border locations and the potential risks associated with granting foreign visitors unrestricted access to strategically important areas.
