SYDNEY: Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has become the most successful left-arm bowler in Test cricket history after surpassing Sri Lankan spin legend Rangana Herath.
Starc achieved the milestone during Australia’s first Test against Bangladesh in Darwin, taking the wicket of Shadman Islam.
The wicket of Shadman made the tally of Test wickets for Starc go up to 434, more than the 433 wickets taken by Herath in his career in Test cricket.
Now, Starc’s latest feat makes him the number one left-arm bowler in Test cricket of all time and also adds another feather in his cap of having an illustrious international cricket career.
The great fast bowler of Pakistan Wasim Akram comes third on the list with 414 Test wickets in his career.
