The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced self-service kiosks to make access to basic identity-related services easier and more convenient for citizens.

The new machines, which resemble ATMs, allow citizens to access several NADRA services without having to wait in long queues or visit a service counter. These include applying for or renewing a Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) and obtaining a Family Registration Certificate (FRC).

Known as self-service kiosks, the machines are designed to handle routine services independently, reducing the need for citizens to interact with staff at counters.

Using the kiosks is relatively simple. Citizens first verify their identity through the machine, select the required service from the screen and then follow the step-by-step instructions provided by the system.

According to NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabbahat Ali, around 65 to 70 per cent of citizens could potentially complete their required services through these automated machines without having to face queues or crowds.

The initiative is aimed at improving service delivery, reducing waiting times and providing citizens with a faster and more convenient way to access NADRA services.
