ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has made a passport valid until November 16, 2027, mandatory for Pakistanis applying for Hajj 2027.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the collection of applications for Hajj 2027 under both the government and private schemes will begin on August 17, and applicants will be required to hold a valid passport.
The ministry advised applicants whose passports expire before November 16, 2027, to have them renewed immediately to avoid any difficulties during the Hajj application process.
Meanwhile, sources said passports of intending pilgrims are being renewed on a priority basis. On the request of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, passport offices have been directed to give priority to Hajj applicants and provide them with prompt services both within Pakistan and at overseas passport offices.
According to the sources, applicants who fail to renew their passports in time could potentially miss the opportunity to apply for Hajj 2027.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has urged citizens to check the validity of their passports carefully before submitting their Hajj applications.
