ISLAMABAD: The federal government has issued the dates for the submission of Hajj 2027 applications, payment and the price of the Hajj package by the government.
According to local news channel reports, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has shared this information in a press conference held in Islamabad on Monday.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs revealed that the price of the 40-day Hajj Package in the government scheme for Hajj has been set at Rs1.2 million.
It was also informed in the press conference that Pakistan’s total Hajj quota for 2027 has been decided as 179,210 pilgrims.
In terms of Hajj quota distribution, 60% of the Hajj pilgrims will be performing Hajj through the government scheme, and 40% of the quota has been given to the private Hajj operators.
This announcement also comprises the price of the government package along with the dates for application and payment of intending pilgrims for Hajj 2027.
Hajj 2027: New Payment System Finalized for Pilgrims
Earlier, the procedure for receiving Hajj 2027 applications and collecting pilgrimage expenses has been finalized, with applications under the government scheme expected to open in the third week of August, according to sources in the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Under the finalized mechanism, pilgrims will be able to pay their Hajj expenses through multiple channels, including OneLink, PSID and credit cards. Applicants will also have the option to download an online challan and deposit the amount in cash.
Overseas Pakistanis will also be able to submit applications and pay their Hajj dues through the new digital system. Applications and payments under the government scheme will be processed through Habib Bank.
According to sources, Hajj expenses under the government scheme will be collected in two equal instalments. Pilgrims will be required to pay half of the total amount in the first instalment and the remaining amount in the second.
Only pilgrims who have already registered will be eligible to submit applications and pay their Hajj dues. Applications under the government scheme will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and the process will close once the allocated quota is filled.
Applications will be accepted for both long and short Hajj packages under the government scheme.
The mechanism for collecting applications and payments under the private Hajj scheme has also been finalized. Private-scheme pilgrims will be able to pay their expenses through OneLink or PSID, as well as by credit card.
The overall Hajj 2027 quota has been fixed at 179,210 pilgrims. The government scheme has been allocated 60 percent of the quota, allowing 107,526 pilgrims to perform Hajj, while the private scheme will receive 40 percent, with 71,684 pilgrims accommodated.
Sources in the Ministry of Religious Affairs said the digital payment system would make the process of paying Hajj dues easier, faster and more secure.
The ministry said the application and payment process would be completed through a modern and transparent system designed to facilitate pilgrims and improve efficiency in the management of Hajj arrangements.
