The procedure for applications and payment of Hajj expenses for both government and private Hajj schemes for Hajj 2027 has been finalized. Applications for the government Hajj scheme are expected to open in the third week of August.
According to sources, pilgrims under the government scheme will be able to deposit payments through three methods. They can pay via 1Link or PSID, through credit card, or by obtaining an online challan and depositing cash.
Sources added that Pakistanis residing abroad will also be able to submit Hajj applications and pay dues through the new digital system. For the government Hajj scheme, applications and payments will only be collected through Habib Bank Limited.
Hajj expenses will be collected in two equal installments. Pilgrims will have to pay half of the total cost in the first installment, while the remaining amount will be deposited in the second installment.
Sources said that only pre-registered pilgrims will be eligible to submit applications and payments for Hajj 2027. Applications for the government scheme will be received on a “first come, first served” basis, and once the quota is filled, further applications will be stopped. Both long and short Hajj packages will be offered under the government scheme.
The strategy for receiving applications and payments for the private Hajj scheme has also been finalized. Pilgrims under the private scheme will have two payment options: via 1Link or PSID, and through credit card.
Pakistan’s total Hajj quota for 2027 has been set at 179,210. Of this, 60 percent has been allocated to the government scheme, allowing 107,526 pilgrims to perform Hajj. The remaining 40 percent has been allocated to the private scheme, under which 71,684 pilgrims will be able to perform Hajj.
According to sources in the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the introduction of a modern digital system for Hajj payments will make the process easier, faster, and more secure. All stages, from submitting the Hajj application to paying the dues, will be completed through a modern and transparent system.
