ISLAMABAD: The federal government has directed the suspension of 3G and 4G mobile internet services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi from midnight tonight, October 10, 2025, until further notice.

According to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control, the approval for the suspension was granted by the competent authority. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has been instructed to implement the decision in coordination with the Commissioner and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Office, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), as well as the Commissioner and Regional Police Officer (RPO), Rawalpindi. The notification emphasized that all concerned authorities, including the PTA, Chief Commissioners of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and the respective police officials, must ensure compliance with the order.

No specific reason has been stated in the letter for the suspension of mobile internet services.
