WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump is reportedly willing to reach an agreement with Iran to end the ongoing conflict even without securing a new nuclear deal, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The newspaper reported that Trump has been eager to reach an understanding with Tehran and has told senior officials that he would consider an agreement aimed at ending the war without a formal nuclear accord.
According to the report, Trump is prepared to pursue an agreement with Iran on the condition that the Strait of Hormuz is fully reopened, allowing commercial shipping to resume normal passage.
