ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL) Board of Directors has approved a bonus equivalent to one basic salary for employees, marking the first major employee-related decision after the airline’s privatisation process.
The decision was taken during the board’s 102nd meeting, which was also the first meeting held after the completion of the privatisation process.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the bonus aims to recognise employees’ efforts and encourage them for their continued contribution to the airline’s operations.
The spokesperson said employees remain a key pillar in PIA’s revival efforts and described the decision as a reflection of the new management’s confidence in building a more efficient and internationally competitive airline.
The airline said the move is expected to improve employee morale, strengthen operational performance and support efforts to stabilise the national carrier.
