The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar has announced the results of the Annual Examinations 2026, in which 10000 students failed the Islamic Studies paper in matric examinations.
According to the results, the highest number of students in both 9th and 10th grades failed in the subject of Islamic Studies. The data shows that in 9th grade, 97,950 students appeared for the exams, out of which 57,847 students have been promoted to 10th grade. Board officials said the failure rate in Islamic Studies was the highest among all compulsory subjects this year.
The overall pass percentage and detailed subject-wise breakdown are being compiled and will be released in the coming days. This is the first time in recent years that such a large number of students have failed a single compulsory subject in the Peshawar Board’s Matric exams.
