PESHAWAR: The annual examination results of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar for 2026 have revealed that Islamiyat was the subject with the highest number of failures among students of Classes 9 and 10.
According to statistics provided by the board, there were total 97,950 students who appeared in Class 9 examination, and 57,847 of them were promoted to Class 10. Meanwhile, 95,496 students appeared in Class 10 examination, and 66,988 students were successful, while 27,788 students were failed.
It is to be noted that Islamiyat was the subject with the highest number of failure candidates from both classes. In class 9, 9,294 students were unable to clear Islamiyat paper, while 437 students from Class 10 were unable to clear this subject. Total 9,730 students failed the Islamiyat subject.
It is to be noted that results also revealed that who achieved top three positions in different groups. In the Science Group, Umama Ali got first position with 1,182 marks, while Syeda Atiqa got second position with 1,087 marks and Hareem Khan got third position with 1,077 marks.
In the Arts Group, Muhammad Abu Zar claimed the top position with 1,088 marks, while Saira Zafar secured second position with 1,074 marks and Saif Hamdan took third position with 1,062 marks.
The results provide an overview of students’ academic performance in the Peshawar Board’s 2026 matriculation examinations, with subject-wise performance highlighting areas requiring further academic focus.
