SWAT: A rescue team searching for the body of veteran Pakistani mountaineer Syed Ali Mian has been forced to return after severe weather and heavy snowfall halted operations on Falak Sar, the highest peak in Swat.
According to family members, Syed Ali Mian went missing about two weeks ago after successfully summiting Falak Sar. While descending the mountain, he was reportedly involved in an accident that left him seriously injured.
Unable to maintain his balance after the fall, he reportedly plunged into a deep ravine estimated to be around 20,000 feet below, resulting in his death.
A rescue team was dispatched to recover his body, but worsening weather conditions, including a snowstorm and poor visibility, made the operation too dangerous to continue. The team was forced to suspend the mission and return without completing the recovery.
Sources familiar with the operation said the search is expected to resume after August, subject to improved weather conditions in the area.
Syed Ali Mian was considered one of the most skillful and experienced climbers in Pakistan. He managed to conquer many difficult mountains in Pakistan including Falak Sar Mountain. For his efforts, he became famous as a man who raised the name of Pakistani mountaineering in the world.
