QUETTA: Armed men from the banned BLA abducted two employees of a courier and logistics company in Mastung’s Khad Kucha area and demanded Rs25 million in ransom, which shows the group’s involvement in both terror and criminal activities in the country.
According to sources, the incident reportedly took place on July 24, when four armed men affiliated with FAH intercepted the civilians and took them Killi Anjeeri area, along with a Shahzore vehicle bearing registration No. LD-6523 belonging to the courier company.
The abducted men were identified as Jan Muhammad, son of Ghashti, and Sajjad Ali, son of Ali Muhammad Ghashti. Both were associated with the courier and logistics company. The permanent address of the kidnapped Jan Muhammad is Mohalla Hazara Town, Brewery Road, Quetta, while his current address is Margalla Valley, Bhara Kahu, Islamabad. The other kidnapped Sajjad Ali is also said to be from Bhara Kahu, Islamabad and permanent resident of Alamdar Road, Quetta.
According to the sources, the kidnappers contacted the company’s owner, Muhammad Imran, on July 26 and allegedly demanded Rs25 million (2.5 crore) for the safe release of the two employees. They also threatened to kill the hostages if the ransom was not paid. Sources claimed that the abducted employees, along with the stolen vehicle, are in the custody of militants belonging to the banned BLA.
