PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has launched a comprehensive upgrade project for Bacha Khan International Airport, with an estimated cost of Rs14 billion aimed at modernizing the airport’s airside infrastructure and enhancing passenger facilities.
According to the PAA, Deputy Director General Airports Sadiq Rehman conducted a detailed inspection of the airport and directed officials to expedite the terminal’s modernization.
His instructions included upgrading digital signage, improving branding, and enhancing the airport’s overall appearance to provide a more modern travel environment.
During the visit, deputy director general PAA emphasized the need for immediate corrective measures to improve passenger services, stating that upgrading the check-in counters, immigration facilities, and waiting areas should be treated as top priorities.
He also instructed airport authorities to modernize the international arrival and departure lounges in line with contemporary international standards, with the aim of offering passengers a more comfortable and efficient travel experience.
The Rs14 billion project is expected to significantly improve the airport’s operational infrastructure while enhancing service quality and strengthening Bacha Khan International Airport’s capacity to meet growing passenger demand and international aviation standards.
