PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has changed the venue for its planned August 5 public rally, shifting it to an open ground near the Peshawar Motorway to facilitate public participation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announced.
The decision was made during a meeting of the PTI parliamentary party held at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, chaired by Chief Minister Afridi. The meeting was attended by members of the National Assembly and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, who also reviewed preparations for the rally.
Addressing the participants, the chief minister said responsibilities had been assigned to all parliamentary members to ensure the successful organization of the event.
He described the August 5 gathering as a “semi-final” and a decisive rally, adding that the party would present its future course of action to the nation during the event.
Afridi said the venue had been changed from its earlier location to an open field near the Peshawar Motorway to make it easier for supporters and the general public to attend.
The chief minister also said that since October 15, 2025, the party had pursued all constitutional and legal avenues and made every effort to resolve political issues through dialogue.
He maintained that the PTI leadership had consistently favored negotiations, but its overtures had received no positive response from political opponents.
He further said he had approached both the Islamabad High Court and the Supreme Court to seek permission to meet PTI founder Imran Khan and had also attempted to raise the issue directly with the chief justices of both courts.
