ISLAMABAD, July 24, 2026 – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has promoted Lieutenant General Aamir Raza, Chief of General Staff of the Pakistan Army, to the rank of Four-Star General.
Along with the promotion, the Prime Minister has appointed General Aamir Raza as Commander, National Strategic Command. Before this, General Aamir Raza was serving in the critical position of Chief of General Staff at the Pakistan Army.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his heartfelt congratulations to General Aamir Raza on his promotion and new appointment. The Prime Minister also expressed his best wishes for General Aamir Raza in the effective discharge of his new and important national responsibilities.
