Samsung has officially unveiled its latest generation of foldable smartphones, introducing the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 at a special launch event in London.
The South Korean technology giant described the new lineup as the next evolution of its foldable smartphone portfolio, featuring upgraded designs, enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and improved performance aimed at strengthening its position in the premium foldable market.
The launch comes amid growing speculation that Apple is preparing to enter the foldable smartphone segment with its first foldable iPhone.
The flagship Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and features a triple-camera system, a larger battery, advanced AI-powered tools, a more durable body and an enhanced foldable design.
Samsung said the device has been developed to meet the demands of professionals and users requiring advanced multitasking capabilities.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 introduces a wider 4:3 display, which the company says offers an improved experience for video streaming, web browsing, gaming and productivity tasks.
The smartphone also features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a lighter design, an improved screen-to-body ratio and an upgraded dual-camera system.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 retains Samsung’s signature clamshell foldable design while incorporating a stronger hinge, a larger external display, a faster processor and more durable glass materials for enhanced longevity.
Samsung has priced the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra at $2,099, representing a $100 increase over its predecessor.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 starts at $1,899, while the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is priced at $1,199, with both models also costing $100 more than the previous generation.
