TANK: Security forces and police jointly thwarted an alleged suicide attack attempt on the Manjikhel police post; a suicide bomber was killed along with his companion here on Thursday.
According to sources, a vehicle loaded with explosives drove at high speed towards the wall of the police post, but the personnel deployed there responded quickly and effectively prevented the attackers from reaching the target.
After stopping the vehicle, a fierce exchange of fire took place between the police and the armed terrorists, during which the suicide bomber and one more terrorist were killed in the retaliatory action of the security personnel.
Immediately after the incident, security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
