ISLAMABAD: To cope with the prevailing security problems and administrative issues being faced by the country, a high-level moot on Thursday called for more provinces in the country.
The demand came from a high-level security meeting that said it is the need of the hour for a stable and peaceful Pakistan to create more provinces. Security sources said that the participants of the meeting were fully agreed in this important security meeting that the implementation of “Administrative Reset” has now become the need of the hour to make the country peaceful, stable and prosperous.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the outdated and dysfunctional administrative structure for many decades has failed to cope with the security challenges of the present era and provide basic facilities to the people.
Sources maintained that the meeting decided that the only sustainable solution to get the country out of economic and security crises is the establishment of small and new provinces so that administrative affairs can be transferred to the lower level under power devolution.
The participants agreed that any future administrative reforms should be carried out in accordance with the Constitution and through broad political consensus to ensure long-term stability and national unity.
