PESHAWAR:(Kamran Ali Shah) An administrative crisis in the Advocate General’s Office of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has deepened after four law officers, including an Additional Advocate General, resigned from their posts citing alleged organizational interference and political pressure.
According to sources, Additional Advocate General Muhammad Inam Yousafzai and Assistant Advocate Generals Khanzeb, Wajahat Hussain Shah, and Naeem Khan have submitted their resignations to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi. In his resignation letter, Muhammad Inam Yousafzai said it had been an honor to serve as Additional Advocate General, but he could no longer continue in the role.
He also thanked the Minister for Law and the Secretary Law in his message. Sources within the Advocate General’s Office said the resignations came amid allegations of organizational interference in administrative matters and political tug-of-war, which reportedly forced several law officers to step down.
The simultaneous resignation of four key law officers is likely to impact the administrative and legal functioning of the Advocate General’s Office.
The office handles the provincial government’s litigation and legal representation in courts. So far, the KP government and relevant authorities have not issued any official statement regarding the resignations or the reasons behind them.
