MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Election Commission has revised the AJK General Elections schedule.
According to the details, Azad Kashmir elections will be held in phases. On 27 June, elections will be held in Mirpur division, on 2 August in Muzaffarabad division, and on 10 August in Poonch division for refugees in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the Election Commission spokesperson and the Chief Election Commissioner, the main objective of this decision is to ensure a satisfactory security and law and order situation in the region and the holding of peaceful elections in all constituencies.
As per the new election schedule announced by the Chief Election Commissioner, voting in the three divisions will be held on different dates in the following order:
First phase (Mirpur division): Polling in all constituencies of Mirpur division will be held on July 27, 2026. Second phase (Muzaffarabad division): Votes for the general elections in Muzaffarabad division will be cast on August 2, 2026.

Third phase (Poonch division): The election process in all constituencies of Poonch division will be conducted on August 10, 2026.
The Chief Election Commissioner Azad Kashmir has also clarified that the election results will not be delayed until all the phases are completed, but after the completion of polling in each phase, the results of the respective divisions and constituencies will also be officially announced on a phased basis.
After this decision of the Election Commission, all political parties have started finalizing the election campaign according to their respective districts and divisions.
