PESHAWAR: Rescue 1122 has launched a dewatering operation on University Road after heavy rainfall caused significant waterlogging, disrupting traffic and creating difficulties for commuters.
According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Ahmad Faizi, emergency teams reached the affected area immediately after reports of flooding.
The operation is being supervised by District Emergency Officer Iftikhar Khan, who is personally overseeing the response on-site.
Rescue personnel are using high-capacity dewatering pumps to remove accumulated rainwater from the road.
Teams are also assisting in moving stranded vehicles to safer locations and working to restore the flow of traffic as quickly as possible.
Rescue 1122 has urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during the ongoing spell of heavy rain, exercise caution, and contact the emergency helpline 1122 in case of any emergency.
