QUETTA: A woman was killed and two others, including a child, were seriously injured after unidentified armed men opened fire on a passenger vehicle near Mangochar in Qalat district of Balochistan.
According to initial reports, the attackers were reportedly stopping and checking vehicles on the road near Khaliqabad when the incident occurred.
The vehicle, which was travelling from Zhob to Karachi, came under fire during the attack. The deceased woman was reportedly being taken to Karachi for medical treatment.
The firing left the woman dead at the scene, while a child and another passenger sustained serious injuries. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, while security forces have begun efforts to trace those involved. No group had claimed responsibility for the attack at the time of filing this report.
