QUETTA: A claim circulating on social media by the banned Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) regarding the alleged takeover of government buildings and police facilities in Chagai district has been dismissed as false and propaganda by security officials.

A post shared on the social media platform X, attributed to BLF spokesperson Major Gahram Baloch, claimed that the group had surrounded Chagai city and taken control of police and Levies headquarters along with other government buildings.

Security sources and law enforcement officials strongly rejected the claim, stating that the law and order situation in Chagai remains fully under control and that state institutions maintain complete authority in the area.

Officials said the misleading information was part of a deliberate propaganda campaign aimed at creating fear and confusion among the public.

According to security sources, police stations, Levies headquarters, and government offices across Chagai are functioning normally, while law enforcement agencies remain active in the region.

Authorities further stated that claims regarding the seizure of weapons, capture of security posts, or disruption of government operations have no basis in reality. Security arrangements at all entry and exit points of the city remain intact, officials added.

The security agencies reiterated that efforts to spread false information would be countered through factual updates and continued vigilance.
