Leader of Peace Jirga Nowshera Syed Kamal Shah Bacha arranged a farewell lunch in honor of Afghan nationals residing in the district, as part of efforts to ensure a peaceful and dignified return of the Afghan brothers.

The event was attended by local elders, civil society members, representatives of Afghan families, and senior district administration. Speaking on the occasion, Syed Kamal Shah Bacha, Leader of Peace Jirga Nowshera, said the purpose of the gathering was to express goodwill and facilitate the return of Afghan nationals living in Nowshera.

“We have lived together as neighbors for decades. Pakistan, and especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, opened its doors and hearts to our Afghan brothers during difficult times. Now, in light of the government’s policy, we want this return to take place with respect, peace, and brotherhood,” Bacha said.

“This is not about hatred. This is about following the law of the land. We are arranging this farewell so that no one leaves with bitterness. We pray for their safety and a better future in their own country,” he added.

Bacha further emphasized that the local jirga, administration, and police are working together to ensure there is no harassment and that the process remains transparent. “Our message to Afghan families is clear: to cooperate with the authorities, complete your documentation, and return voluntarily.

The government has given a time period of one month for voluntary return,” Bacha said that they have contacted DPO and After this period, legal action will be taken in accordance with the law. But our priority right now is to facilitate a peaceful and orderly departure. He assured that police would provide all possible assistance, including security and facilitation at exit points, for families returning during the given period. Elders and Afghan community representatives thanked the Peace Jirga and district administration for arranging the farewell and for treating them with dignity. The lunch concluded with prayers for peace and stability in both Pakistan and Afghanistan.
