PESHAWAR/LAKKI MARWAT: Two people, including a local Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader and a transgender person, were killed in separate shooting incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, while another transgender person sustained injuries.

According to police, unidentified armed men opened fire near Karam Pul in Lakki Marwat, killing Haji Naqeebullah, the local Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Dadiwala. His body was shifted to Sarai Naurang Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Following the incident, a large number of JI workers gathered at the hospital.

In a separate incident in Peshawar’s Chamkani area, unidentified assailants opened fire on two transgender persons, killing one and injuring another. Police identified the deceased as Mishal alias Mashi, approximately 25 years old, while the injured was identified as 22-year-old Baseer, son of Syed Wali.

Police said evidence had been collected from both crime scenes, and investigations were underway to trace and arrest the attackers. No group or individual has claimed responsibility for either incident.
