RAWLAKOT: An Islamabad police constable was allegedly assaulted by protesters during duty in Azad Kashmir and was forced to pose with Indian currency for video and photographs.

According to an “Important Information Report” issued by the Special Branch Control Room at 08:30 AM on July 15, 2026, Islamabad Police employee Ehtisham s/o Ishtiaq, Service No. 9427, was traveling from Islamabad to Rawalakot for duty in Kundur on July 14, 2026.

The report states that near the Afsar Market, Goli Nala, protesters stopped his vehicle. After checking, they pulled him out of the car, beat him, and forcibly gave him Indian currency before making videos and taking photographs of him.

Later, the protesters dropped him near the Bismillah Hotel, Goli Nala. The constable is currently present at the Azad Pattan Check Post. The incident has been reported to senior officials for further action.
