ISLAMABAD: Pakistani researchers and cybersecurity experts are now eligible to participate in OpenAI’s Bio Bounty Program after the country was added to the list of eligible nations, opening the door for local professionals to compete for rewards of up to $50,000.
The initiative, launched by artificial intelligence company OpenAI, is designed to identify potential biological security risks and vulnerabilities in advanced AI models. The program seeks contributions from qualified experts who can help assess and strengthen the safety mechanisms of AI systems.
According to OpenAI, the Bio Bounty Program is intended for individuals with experience in fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, red teaming, and biosecurity. The goal is to improve safeguards against the potential misuse of AI technologies and enhance the overall resilience of AI systems.
Participants who demonstrate exceptional performance in identifying and reporting significant security concerns may receive rewards of up to $50,000.
To apply, interested candidates must complete an online application form providing personal information, country of residence, educational or professional affiliations, and details of relevant experience. Applicants are also required to have an active ChatGPT account.
OpenAI will review applications and grant selected candidates access to a dedicated platform. Before beginning their work, participants will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
