PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Anti-Corruption Establishment (KPACE) has further expanded its investigation into complaints of alleged irregularities, corruption, and misuse of authority in recruitments to high-level positions at Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC).
The institution has been asked to submit complete records of recruitments and has directed the concerned authorities to submit all documents within three days.
According to sources, the complaint received by the Anti-Corruption Establishment has raised questions about the process of appointments to key administrative positions, including Chief Internal Auditor, Director of Finance, and Director of Procurement and Supply Chain Management. The complaint has alleged that some candidates benefited through deviation from rules and regulations, alleged violation of merit, and misuse of authority during the recruitment process.
Sources said that the anti-corruption authorities have sought copies of advertisements, records of applications received, screening lists, details of shortlisted candidates, merit lists, interview records, minutes of selection committee meetings, educational qualifications of selected candidates, experience certificates, and all other documents related to the appointment process for the investigation.
The investigating authorities have clearly instructed the concerned officers to hand over the required records to the anti-corruption establishment within three days so that the allegations made in the complaint can be fully investigated and the investigation can be finalized. According to sources, if more irregularities or evidence of violation of rules come to light during the examination of the records, the scope of the investigation can be further expanded.
Sources said that the anti-corruption establishment is examining each point included in the complaint as per legal requirements and relevant rules. Documentary evidence, selection procedure, and role of the concerned officers will also be examined in detail to find out whether the appointment process was carried out completely on merit and in accordance with the law or not.
It should be noted that the purpose of the Anti-Corruption Department’s request for records is to investigate the allegations made in the complaint, and so far, no allegations have been proven against any individual or officer. Only after the investigation is completed will a decision be taken by the relevant authorities regarding a formal position or legal action.
