ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has suspended the National Highway Authority (NHA) notification dated May 30, 2025, for collecting 50 percent additional toll tax for vehicles without M-tag or with low balance.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of the Islamabad High Court issued a two-page written order for hearing on the petition against the collection of additional toll tax for vehicles without M-tag or with low balance on the motorway.

According to the court’s order, the lawyer said that 50 percent additional toll is being collected without M-tag or with low balance, NHA cannot legally collect additional toll.

In the order, the court said that notices are issued to the NHA and other parties and the parties should submit a written response to the court by August 3.

It should be noted that in the Islamabad High Court, Advocate Jalal Haider has challenged the notification issued by the NHA on May 30, 2025, for additional toll tax.
