BALAKOT: A rafting team that rescued four drowning tourists from the Kunhar River near Naran has been widely praised for its swift and courageous rescue operation.
During a meeting with the team, Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) Director General Rahmat Ali commended the rescuers for their professionalism, bravery, and timely response, describing their actions as an exemplary display of dedication and humanitarian service.
The rafting team acted promptly to save four precious lives, setting an outstanding example of courage, responsibility, and commitment to public service, the KDA director general said.
Rahmat Ali also urged tourists visiting the Kaghan Valley to exercise caution while visiting rivers and other recreational sites and to strictly follow safety guidelines issued by the authorities to help prevent accidents.
Meanwhile, local residents hosted a dinner in Honour of the rafting team to recognize their outstanding service.
Citizens and tourists alike applauded the rescuers for carrying out the successful operation within moments, preventing what could have been a major tragedy.
The rafting team had rescued the four tourists from the fast-flowing Kunhar River near Naran two days earlier after they were at risk of drowning.
The team’s prompt response has since earned widespread appreciation from both the public and local authorities.
