ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said that the fault in the Internet submarine cable has been fixed and internet service is continuing uninterrupted.

On Thursday, complaints of slow internet service were reported in various cities of Pakistan.

According to Down Detector, an organization that monitors internet connectivity, internet service was affected in many cities of the country, due to which users were facing severe difficulties.

In a statement issued by the PTA, it was said that the disruption in internet traffic due to the fault in the (SEA-ME-WE 5 (SMW5) international submarine cable system is being continuously monitored.

As a result of this fault, some internet users may face degradation in service quality and connectivity from time to time.

However, now the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has said that the fault in the Internet submarine cable SMW 5 has been fixed, after which internet service is continuing uninterrupted.
