A significant decrease has been seen in the prices of solar systems in Karachi, after which solar panels, batteries, and inverters have become cheaper than before.

According to market sources, a clear decrease has been recorded in the prices of various solar products in the city’s electronics market. Due to increased imports, abundant stocks, and low demand, further stabilization or a slight decrease in prices is also expected in the coming days.

According to media reports, the prices of lithium batteries have decreased by about Rs 20,000, while inverters have become cheaper by up to Rs 10,000. Similarly, the prices of solar plates have also decreased by about Rs 3,000 per plate.

According to traders, some dealers had increased prices before the budget due to possible taxes and rumors, while some businessmen had also stocked solar products for higher profits. However, the market situation changed after no additional tax was imposed on solar systems in the federal budget.

According to market sources, the supply-demand gap narrowed due to increased imports and availability of abundant stocks, while reduced purchases by buyers also played an important role in bringing down prices.

Currently, 585, 645, and 720-watt solar panels are being sold in the market at around Rs 45 per watt, while a few days ago, the same price was around Rs 50 per watt. 5 kW lithium batteries are available for around Rs 230,000, while the prices of 3 to 5 kW inverters range between Rs 120,000 and Rs 300,000.

Traders say that if the current supply remains intact and there is no significant increase in demand, there is a possibility of further stabilization or a slight decrease in the prices of solar products in the coming days.
