Kharan, Balochistan: As many as three militants were killed during an exchange of fire with a special security operations team in the Kharan district of Balochistan on Thursday, according to security sources.

The incident occurred around 2:35 PM near Killi Sarawan, where personnel observed three to four armed individuals travelling on motorcycles, the sources said. Security forces reportedly pursued the suspects, leading to a brief but intense exchange of fire.

Officials said three of the suspected militants were killed on the spot, while others managed to escape the area. No casualties among security personnel were reported.

Following the operation, security teams recovered a cache of weapons and equipment from the site, including RPG ammunition, motorcycles, electrical wiring, and other materials, officials added.

Preliminary assessments suggest that the group may have been planning a possible armed attack or preparing explosive devices, though investigations are still ongoing to determine the exact nature of their activities.

Security forces have launched a search operation in the surrounding areas to track down any remaining suspects and to clear the region of potential threats.
