ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Division has issued a notification directing all ministries, divisions, and government establishments located within Islamabad’s Red Zone to observe a work-from-home day on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
According to the notification, several key government institutions will continue to operate from their offices as usual.
These include the cabinet division, federal board of revenue (FBR), finance division, ministry of commerce, ministry of foreign affairs, ministry of industries and production, ministry of interior and narcotics control, ministry of law and justice, ministry of parliamentary affairs, ministry of planning, development and special initiatives, national assembly and senate, prime minister’s office, and the revenue division.
The notification further states that autonomous bodies and attached departments located within the Red Zone will remain closed on the day.
Employees of ministries and divisions directed to work from home have been instructed to remain available and prepared to report to their offices at short notice if required.
The Cabinet Division clarified that the notification does not apply to banks, which will continue their operations and maintain normal working hours.
The directive was issued by Cabinet Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal and has been circulated for wide publicity through print and electronic media.
