PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released a fresh report regarding the damage caused by heavy rain, strong winds, and lightning in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past 24 hours.
According to PDMA, roof and wall collapses triggered by the severe weather have resulted in at least seven fatalities and 33 injuries. Among the deceased are two children, four men, and one woman, while the injured include seven men, 12 women, and 14 children.
The incidents were reported from multiple districts, including Bannu, Shangla, and Mansehra. Rescue 1122, district administrations, and other relevant agencies are actively engaged in relief and rescue operations while maintaining close coordination.
PDMA has instructed local authorities to expedite the provision of relief goods to affected families and to intensify emergency response efforts to support victims.
Authorities have also urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from vulnerable tourist and hilly areas, advising compliance with official weather alerts and advisories.
The PDMA Emergency Operations Center remains fully operational, and citizens can contact the helpline 1700 for weather updates, emergency information, or assistance.
