ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif formally signed the Annual Budget 2026-27 documents following their approval by the Federal Cabinet during a meeting at Parliament House in Islamabad.

The budget, which outlines the government’s revenue and expenditure plans for the upcoming fiscal year, reflects priorities in sectors such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, and social welfare. The Cabinet’s approval paves the way for its presentation to the National Assembly for debate and final ratification.

Officials stated that the budget aims to balance economic growth with fiscal responsibility, while addressing key challenges including inflation, unemployment, and public service delivery.

The formal signing marks the final step in the cabinet-level approval process, signaling the government’s readiness to implement the new fiscal policies for 2026-27.
