PESHAWAR: Gold prices in Peshawar’s bullion market have surged sharply, leaving traders and investors stunned, while silver has also recorded a modest increase.
According to local market dealers, gold prices spiked by PKR 14,000 per tola, rising the market prices from PKR 423,000 to PKR 437,000 per tola. Silver prices have gone up a little to reach PKR 7,600 per tola.
The All Pakistan Jewellers Association stated that the rate of 24 carat gold is now PKR 439,966 per tola and gold for 10 grams amounts to PKR 375,947.
It is to be noted that this spike in gold prices is not restricted to Peshawar only as similar hikes have taken place in other large cities of Pakistan as well.
