ISLAMABAD: The District Administration of Islamabad Capital Territory has issued new closing hours for markets, malls, restaurants and other commercial establishments as part of ongoing austerity measures. The notification comes into effect from June 10, 2026, and will remain in force until further notice.
Under the revised schedule:
Shops, markets, shopping malls and departmental stores must close by 9:00 PM.
Standalone grocery and kiryana stores, as well as marriage halls, marquees, and other festive venues, will close by 10:00 PM.
Restaurants, cafes, eateries, and standalone fruit and vegetable shops will close by 11:00 PM, although takeaway and home delivery services are exempted.
Essential services, including hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, medical supply stores, bakeries, tandoors, milk/dairy shops, fuel stations, EV charging stations, gyms, sports facilities, and IT companies, remain exempt from the revised timings.
The administration urged business owners and residents to comply with the new schedule to ensure smooth implementation and efficiency during the ongoing austerity measures.
