The Government of Pakistan has decided to increase the quarterly installment of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) to Rs 18,000 from the next financial year, significantly increasing relief for poor and deserving families.

Along with this, a revolutionary change is also being made in the payment method to ensure transparency of the program, under which all payments will be made only through digital wallets from July.

Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program Senator Rubina Khalid announced these decisions while addressing an important press conference in Islamabad. She clarified that BISP is the guarantor of self-respect and economic independence of the poor and disadvantaged families of the country, and any kind of negative propaganda against the program is unacceptable and condemnable.

The Chairperson said that in the context of the current economic situation and inflation, the scope of financial assistance to the beneficiaries is being expanded, under which the amount of the quarterly stipend has now been significantly increased to Rs. 18,000. This new amount will start being received by the deserving women from the beginning of the next financial year.

Senator Rubina Khalid said that from July 1, all money given under the program will be transferred directly to the digital wallets of the beneficiaries instead of traditional methods or bank franchises. The main objective of this initiative is to permanently end deductions during payments and blackmail of women by the mafia. Now the beneficiaries can easily access their mobile phones at any time.
