ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) former member of the National Assembly, Abdul Latif Chitral, eventually surrendered himself to the Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad on Friday in the May 9 riot cases.
Former PTI member of the National Assembly, Abdul Latif Chitrali, who was convicted in the May 9 cases, surrendered to the Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad. He submitted a petition stating that the Peshawar High Court had ordered him to surrender to the relevant court.
In Anti-Terrorism Court No. 2, Judge Tahir Abbas Supra acknowledged Chitrali’s appearance, remarking, “Latif Sahib, you were late, but it is good that you have come forward.” The court ordered that Abdul Latif Chitrali be transferred to jail to serve his sentence. However, he was arrested in the courtroom by the Ramna police station.
Chitrali received a total sentence of 10 years in prison under various charges.
