ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Federal Education has reissued a formal notification reinforcing the strict implementation of the summer vacation schedule for private educational institutions in the federal capital, warning of legal action against any violations.

According to details, the notification came in the wake of complaints from citizens regarding some private schools in Islamabad not following the officially declared schedule of summer vacations.

The notification issued by the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA), which functions under the purview of the Ministry of Education, made it clear that all private institutions in Islamabad are bound to follow the schedule of summer vacations from May 25 to July 31, 2026.

In the notification, it was also instructed to the owners and principals of the schools to abide by the officially scheduled dates of vacations dated May 21.

In case any institution fails to follow the instructions, legal action will be taken against it by invoking the PEIRA Act 2013 through the Islamabad district administration.

It should be mentioned here that the Punjab provincial government has declared summer vacations for both public and private institutions from May 22 to August 23, 2026, with classes to start from August 24.
