PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Education department is likely to place 4,000 teachers in the surplus pool after Eidul-Azha by implementing the outsourcing policy for government primary schools across the province.
Following the implementation of the outsourcing policy in government primary schools within the province, the positions of thousands of teachers are likely to be at risk. This has raised concerns that about 4,000 teachers may be placed into a surplus pool.
Sources indicate that preparations are underway to include 2,000 primary schools in the initial phase of the outsourcing project. To support this effort, a special cell is being established within the education department to oversee matters related to teacher appointments, transfers, and code positions.
According to reports, student enrollment in several government schools has been low. In some cases, despite a limited number of students from nursery to fifth grade, teacher appointments have continued without any significant improvement in educational performance.
Sources suggest that teachers at schools designated for outsourcing may either be reassigned to other government institutions or placed in the surplus pool, allowing for potential reappointments as needed.
Education department officials are also working to adjust the code positions of teachers and modify administrative procedures for new appointments throughout this process. Additionally, the implementation of this policy is expected to accelerate further after Eid.
