LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has issued a stern warning regarding the recent controversy involving a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) and a prominent media personality, stating that no one found harassing or exploiting a woman will be spared.
Breaking her silence on the issue, the Chief Minister clarified that while the ongoing matter is a personal issue that will be addressed strictly on merit and in accordance with the law, her administration maintains a zero-tolerance policy against intimidation.
She said that she wanted to make it absolutely clear that she will not spare anyone found involved in attempting to harass, threaten, or exploit a woman. Maryam Nawaz further noted that no individual, regardless of their status, position, or political connections, is above the law.
Reaffirming her commitment to institutional independence, the Chief Minister added that state institutions will perform their duties independently, impartially, and in accordance with the Constitution and the law.
Delivering a direct ultimatum to those involved, she warned that any attempt to exert political pressure, abuse influence, or exploit a woman through threats of releasing personal content publicly will be met with firm and uncompromising action. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz concluded by stating that anyone involved should consider this a clear and serious warning.
