Important Jirga of Pak Army and Local Elders in North Waziristan Datta Khel, Jirga pledges Joint Commitment for State Governance and Sustainable Peace in the area.

In the context of the current security situation, an important Jirga was held between the security forces and local elders in Datta Khel Tehsil of North Waziristan.

The Jirga discussed in detail the overall situation of the area, peace and stability, strengthening of state governance and issues related to the safety of the people. The Jirga was attended by the elders of the area and senior officials of the security agencies so that the challenges facing the region could be tackled together.

During the Jirga, the security officials gave a clear and to-the-point message to the local elders and informed them that no shelter or facility should be provided to the extremists who are jeopardizing the peace of the area. Strict legal action will be taken against the elements found involved in lawlessness and unrest as per the country’s rules and regulations.

The Jirga fully agreed that establishing lasting peace in the region, protecting civilians and maintaining state writ i.e. state governance is possible only when there is close and strong cooperation between the local population, regional elders and security agencies.

The local elders assured the security forces that they will not allow any mischievous element to flourish in their area and will keep the hands of the security agencies strong to establish law and order. The Jirga concluded with prayers for the security and prosperity of Tehsil Datta Khel and the entire country.
