A 28-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman have allegedly been killed in the name of honour in Mansehra, police said.

According to police officials, the victims, identified as 28-year-old Gul Nawaz and an 18-year-old woman, were shot dead. Police alleged that the woman’s brother, identified as Abid, opened fire in the name of honour.

The victims were reportedly residents of Shamli Hill in Battagram.

Police have registered a case and launched efforts to arrest the suspected perpetrators. The bodies of the victims were handed over to their families after post-mortem examinations.

In a separate incident in August, a prayer leader and a young woman were allegedly killed in the name of honour in the Kacha area of Rustam tehsil in Shikarpur.

Police said armed men allegedly opened fire near Chaman Shikarpur village, killing mosque prayer leader Anees Phor and a woman identified as Namal Sabzoi. Rustam police reached the scene after receiving information about the incident and recovered the bodies.
