ISLAMABAD: The National Highways and Motorways Authority has imposed a complete ban on the entry of vehicles loaded with animals onto motorways on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
According to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police, the decision was taken to maintain public safety and traffic flow. Overloaded and unfit vehicles can cause serious accidents; vehicles loaded with animals will be diverted to alternative and safer routes.
The Motorway Spokesperson said that in the past, several dangerous accidents have occurred on motorways due to such vehicles, and Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have been directed to set up check posts at entry points.
Action has also been ordered against illegal parking near livestock markets and interchanges. Strict legal action will be taken against violations of traffic rules and loading standards. The ban aims to prevent accidents and maintain traffic flow on motorways.
