PESHAWAR: Syed Nazar Hussain Shah has formally assumed his duties as the Chief Commissioner of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission.
The Department of Information and Public Relations had issued a notification of his appointment on May 12, 2026.
Upon his arrival at the office of the Commission, he was warmly welcomed by the officers and staff. An introductory meeting was held on the occasion in which Syed Nazar Hussain Shah was briefed on the procedures, ongoing projects, and future goals of the institution.
In his address, the newly elected Chief Commissioner said that strengthening the transparency and accountability system in the province is his top priority.
He expressed his determination to ensure effective implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act so that a culture of public access and transparency is promoted in government institutions. The officers expressed confidence in his experience and hoped that the institution would be more active under his leadership.
