Security forces conducted an effective intelligence-based operation against terrorists in the Chamalang area of Balochistan, following a tip-off. During the operation, five personnel, including a major, were martyred while eight terrorists were killed in a fierce exchange of gunfire.

The security forces received confirmed intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists involved in extortion activities from coal mines in Chamalang. In response, they surrounded the area and launched the operation.

During the operation, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on the personnel, resulting in the death of Major Tauseef of the Pakistan Army and four soldiers, who fought bravely.

In the ensuing counter-operation, eight terrorists were killed, and several others were reported injured.

Sources indicate that search and clearance operations are still ongoing to pursue the terrorists who escaped after the operation. Security measures have been heightened at all entry and exit routes in the area.

Officials have stated that such operations will continue until terrorism and extortion are completely eradicated from Balochistan.
